It is with great saddness we say good-bye to an era today. West Wind's Scent of Aloha; "Ginger," went
to the bridge on May 27th, 2014. But hers was also a long, well lived life of love and companionship.
Ginger adopted our great friends, the Dubay's, in West Sacramento. The Dubay's loved Odie and so wanted
an Odie puppy. They were just heartbroken we were not going to breed Odie and Abbie. Then, as fate would have
it, and dogs being dogs, Odie and Abby thought they would have puppies anyway, without our blessing.
We
will never forget the excitement on the phone telling them their Odie was puppy was on the way, and a lot sooner than we would
have ever anticipated. We had just a couple of weeks to prepare.
Ginger was destined to be their dog.
For all the excitement that day brings, we knew this day was also coming. It is never easy...and it never
gets easier.
Rest in peace sweet girl. You will always be loved.
